Commissioned by banker Henry Graves Jr. in 1925 to outdo automobile tycoon James Ward Packard, this legendary pocket watch featured 24 complications, including a celestial map of New York City as viewed from Graves’s apartment. It took over three years to design and another five to build, holding the title of the world’s most complicated mechanical watch for 56 years. In 2014, it sold at auction for a staggering 24 million dollars.
